He feels a counter spell, of the same type and magnitude, ripple right back off her clothes.

"My dear Goblin," Lyssindra whispers softly, "I'll only revile anyone for their personality. Also, it is an enchantment. Give it a more detailed scan next time." She smiles sweetly as she and Maydra follow Shank in.

"So, Shank, what is on the auction block for today?" Maydra asked, "We know of a few of the things, but not all of them."

(Um... Goblin isn't there anymore. Aaaaaaand you didn't mention that the counter spell was part of the enchantment when you sent the initial shock sooooo... You can't really make that change now Nightshade.)

(what your scan hit, was a skillfully woven mirror enchantment, hidden enough that, when scanned, all it would do is reflect back the scan and not be detected itself despite it being, in essence, in plain sight. This is combined with another enchantment that allows the information of what the mirror reflects to be stored, in other words, whatever amount of data the scan gained is stored in the cloak. Also, this mirror enchantment would cause your counter spell to be reflected as well)

(Again... doesn't really matter cause you wrote it like she cast the spell at him. Not that it was part of the garment/enchantment. Then it would of hit Goblin where he actually was and we wouldn't be having this conversation. And I'm sorry... you can't expect me to react to what you don't write the way you want me to if you don't write it.)

Luex, who is currently in the boneyard, walks up to the entrance of the auction building in a very nice suit. His image seemingly flickers time to time, though fast and hard to catch. The watchful eye could realize this was merely some illusion as the hologram speaks, "Is the auction overpacked yet or is there a chance for me to actually buy something this time?"

The man looks over at the holographic projection, before he sighs. He really wishes that more people would respect the 'proper' way to go to an auction, but he doesn't have any control over it. He follows Luex, and the twins, as he nods over at the soldiers and heads into the area where the auction is going to be held.

The body guards walk with him for a short while, but they stop when he leaves the area. They look towards the soldiers, before they get back into the car and wait. As usual, they don't really have the means or the desire to participate. They're only sent to guard the man until he arrives.

The guard at the entrance's face turned ghost white at the sight of Luex, having been informed ahead of time.

"N... Nono My Lord... Sir! Not late at all, still w... waiting for other buyers to chime in," he stuttered out, quickly hurrying out of the way so that the hologram projection could make it's way in. Technology or magic which only the most powerful people on the entire planet could fund or accomplish.

The Sargent with Mr. Shine nodded to his guards as they escorted him into the building and through a quick scanner to make sure nothing was missed. More a formality with him as the representative was a well respected client. Also had The Black Company had a reputation to uphold at this event. Those in actual attendance would get their own detachment of Black Company Mercenaries until the event was over, and any attempts to harm or stop a potential buyer would be met with excessive force.

Maydar and Lyssindra, even with Goblin's okay, got a patdown along with their scan. Though a larger contingent of Black Company Mercs began to escort them into the "auction house". Apparently someone thought they might become a source of trouble if they weren't watched over, and that someone was probably a heavily scarred elf.

Inside the spacious room it was apparent the place had been covered with a rather elaborate hologram itself, as the room was now lighten by soft candles high above them on fancy chandeliers. The floor having gone from stale gray concrete to what looked like marble, though it certainly still felt like concrete... nor did the visages of the forest around them, being projected onto the walls of the giant room hide the smell of oil, gas, and open equipment. The room was already packed for the most part, with nary a chair emtpy as buyers from around the world were projected onto their seats, though just their seats.. which meant there were plenty of arms reaching through neighbors, and people propping their feet up on unseen desks. It was almost comical really as the four individuals were led to their own seating, with an actual table and some refreshments left out. Several more people started to shuffle in, guarded by their own contingents of Mercenaries and were seated near the four.

The pat down finds a pouch in Maydra's pocket that is revealed, as he claims, to have money inside. A decent amount for the auction for it too. (I apologize for the lack of specifics but the amount of money that would be fair for me to have is being worked out.)

"Oooh, quite a decent number of people who are 'here,'" Lyssindra exclaims, "shame they aren't physically here. It's just not the same without physical existence."

They meander over to the refreshments and pick up a few morsels.

"And they miss out on the food!"

"Lyssindra, must you continue to embarrass us?" Maydra asks.

"Isn't it just our thing? We go somewhere, I embarrass or involve us, you mop it up, we make friends, and then leave even if they ask us to stay."

"But we're here for the auction this time."

"So?"

"Nevermind...let's meet the others."

"I wonder if one of our guards would be so kind as to escort me?"

"Not even if Scion himself stood before us and told me to..." The Black Companyman right behind her thought to himself...

The man smiles as he looks towards the captain. He says, "I'm definitely glad that you guys are willing to expend the manpower necessary to watch us. It's just one of those things that I enjoy."

He walks over to the table, and picks through the refreshments that were left out. He picks up a plate and fills it with some of the delicacies that he spots. He eats some of them as he watches the twins closely. He doesn't say anything, but his eyes are a good enough hint that he's both fearful, and curious.

Maydra catches his gaze. Then shrugs and leads Lyssindra over to the man.

"Greetings, my name is Maydra Aiya, and this is my twin sister, Lyssindra Aiya."

"May we know who you are?" Lyssindra asks, her smile growing brighter, and toothier.

He looks at the both of them, sipping on a drink. He puts it down only a second or two later, however, as he says, "I'm Mr. Shine. I'm here on the behalf of a corporation within Imperial Airborne, and that's about it when it comes to who I am. I've never seen you two around these parts before, so I'm a bit surprised."

He holds out a hand, presuming that one of them will shake it, at the very least.

Maydra shakes it and says, "we're travelers, so we get around and don't really stick around. Tell me, Mr. Shine, what brings you to the auction, anything in particular?"

He nods and says, "Well, Mr. Aiya, my employers are interested in getting their hands on the gem that these fine companymen are offering today. They think that, if they can study it, they'd be able to improve their own artificial stones. While I'm personally skeptical of the whole idea, I'm being paid to make sure that my employers can hopefully get their hands on it."

"Interesting," Maydra says.

"That's all quite a bit of what you are, but little about who you are," Lyssindra's tone is radically different from her greeting. Her eyes are strangely piercing, "unless the sum of your personality is only what you claim to be."

The man looks at Lyssindra for a second, looking at her piercing eyes. His own eyes narrow as he says, "Who I am does not matter within these walls. The only thing that does matter is what my employers expect of me. They're not the most pleasant of people if people get on their nerves."

She simply says, "how hollow," then, before he can reply, she turns to Maydra and says, "I'm going to get more refreshments," then sweeps off.

Maydra turns back to Mr. Shine with an apologetic smile saying, "please forgive my sister. She is rather...strong willed about some things."

He looks at Maydra and simply nods, before he says, "That's fine. I'd be more open, but I'm just not really the talkative type. In addition to that, some people are simply impatient, and wish for me to focus mainly on the auction. Money really does make the world go around, and I'm sad to admit that the people above my payroll are the impatient types."

"Would that we all had the time to be more patient with life," Maydra says with a light laugh, "although I'll have to disagree with you on the philosophy that money makes the world go round."

He grins in response to what you've said, before he says, "What do you think makes the world go 'round, then? It seems almost everyone I know seems to think it to be money. Either that, or power."

"Power isn't too far off. Or rather, it's easily the result of what makes the world turn, but it isn't. What makes the world go 'round is simply drive and dreams," Maydra says with a small smile and a mildly distant look, "the other, even simpler, way of looking at it is to ask yourself this, 'Am I content with my life?'"

He looks and says, jokingly, "Well, if I had to answer myself, I'd probably say that I am content with my life. I live a nice enough life outside of these walls, and with people who I'd die for," before he gets serious and asks, "Are you content with yours," as he gazes at Maydra, whilst occasionally glancing over at his twin.

"More than the common man, less than the desired outcome."

The man nods for a moment, before he watches as the people in the chairs don't even seem to notice them, as he asks, "Hm. So, what makes you want the source stone that they're offering? Do you and your sister have... employers as well?"
