Meldevek Town (Mu-Arishi)

It takes a few hours but soon Maddie hears the old "Ah-ha!" that Onowa always yells when she's finished something. "This'll get you the kick you need!" the Crow Tengu exclaims with a grin.

Maddie takes it carefully. "Can I fit this in a suitcase where it'll go unnoticed?"

Onowa grins as she hands Maddie a detonator. "Yup. And this'll be the trick to make it go boom. Usual C4 detonator."

Maddie handles it carefully with a smile. "Nice. What's the range on it?"

Onowa hefts the explosives itself, a sizable block of C4 with some extra patches of metal stuck to the side. It looks like cast iron. "At least 20 meters. The shrapnel would go far past that, but if you don't want collateral you can just take the plates off and throw 'em away."

Maddie nods a little as Onowa speaks. "And the trigger, what's the range for that? I assume it's wireless?"

Onowa nods. "Yep. As long as you're in sight of it, there shouldn't be a problem."

----In the Bounty Hunters Office----

The mercenary opens the door into the office, only to be greeted by the sudden, heavy smell of cigarette smoke. As the smoke begins to clear up, she gets a better glimpse at the inside of the small office. The room itself, which seems to constitute at least 90% of the property, isn't very full, with a few chairs located to her right, near a stack of old magazines. The walls are covered in a random assortment of objects, ranging from license plates, to old fashioned posters of actresses and musicians. A man sits at the other end of the room, behind a desk with a lot of clutter on it, reading a comic. He seems to laugh every so often, not even aware of her presence in the room.

The smoky room didn't bother her too much, however she didn't complain...or more over she couldn't. It wasn't the first time she'd been in a nicotine filled room, which in all fairness, she preferred to a room filled with pure, inadultrated carbon. She walked across the room towards the seated man's desk, who was obilvious to her volpuous figure walking up. She wore a skin tight military black jacket, with matching cargos. She sported several devices on her utility belt among the obivous magazines for her 2 holstered sidearms and the DMR rifle that clinged to her back by the over-wrapping strap that crossed her body. Even tho she wasn't trying to be stealthy, her soft walk and shoes made very soft echos off the walls.

The Brunette stopped as she reached the desk, gently reaching over and tapping the top of the book stack of papers and other unknowns that he was so 'greatly' concerened about.

He blinks for a moment, noticing her finger in the corner of his vision. He lowers his comic slowly as his eyes slowly begin to look her body over, stopping long before they reach her eyes. He puts his comic on the ground as he picks up one of the notebooks and says, "Oh, I... I... uh, I didn't notice you coming in. You uh... you... could've made some sort of noise." After saying that, he flips through the pages, asking, "Well, I imagine that you're... uh, here for a job. We've been getting a lot of those as of late, given how... well, how the town is somewhat of a shitfest. Thanks for helping out," before stops flipping the pages and begins turning them slowly, waiting for you to pick one out. Eventually, you spot one of a man wearing dirty military gear, although the tags have been ripped off, and the price for bringing his 'head' in is pretty high as well.

The mercenary watched as the young bounty master's eyes leave her figure to the book he brought up. Her emerald eyes glanced over the pages as he flipped through. Soon her finger reached out and landed on the page that designated her selection.

He looks at the page and nods.  He says, "Ah yes, him.  There are lots of rumors about him, with quite a few suggesting that he's some sort of ex-spec ops soldier from Imperial Airborne.  Others suggest that he's some charismatic lunatic.  All that we know for certain is that he's in charge of a small group of fanatics.  They've been hostile to quite a few towns and... well, the citizens of Meldevek think that their town is next on the list.  We're glad for the help, ma'am.  By the way, do you have a name and a phone number?  It's... it's necessary, for... uh... liability purposes.  Yeah, that!"

The female mercenary couldn't help but grin. Still without a word, she leant down and grabbed a piece of paper from the unused magazine, giving the man a clear view of her exposed chest. Once she got the magazine, she ripped a piece of the page and grabbed the pen that was visable on the desk and wrote down on the clear spot of the paper and then flipped it around. She then placed it down on the book of the target to show him with the words:
"Preferred Dead or Alive?"

He continues to stare blinkly at her for a second, staring at her cleavage, before he takes a glance at the paper she put on the page.  He looks it over and nods quietly, before he says, "The person who put this up wants him dead."  He looks away for a second, avoiding looking at her, or her assets, before he looks back and says, "Anyways, it's required to bring back something belonging to the victim.  This way, we can prove that you've killed them, specifically.  Do you understand this?"

She smiled and nodded once. Knowing the deal, she took a quick picture with her cellphone of the target before turning around and heading out of the office, allowing alittle of a strut to be seen. This was going to be somewhat easy.

As she turned, the soft wind from her body movement blew the paper over to reveal what was on the back. Could almost imagine the voice as the words read:
"Vel 555-5xx5. Tho might not say much...can't speak."

He stares at her as she leaves the building, almost unaware of the paper blowing over.  He notices the words on the paper and nods.

As she leaves, though, she notices various people staring at her.  Although quite a few of them are staring at her assets, others just seem to be staring in her general direction.  She notices one of the random citizens walk up to her with a map.  It seems as though they were listening in, and they point to where he was last seen.  Although the person doesn't say anything, they definitely feel personal rage towards this bounty.

As she looked at the map that the bystander pointed out it was definitely clear that the town wanted them gone. With a silent and confident nod, she continued forward, knowing where the area was that was in question. Once she got far enough out of sight, she stepped off the road into the trees. After manuvering down a small path she came to a concealed SUV, covered very well in a camo tarp-net. After pulling it off and tossing it in the back, she hopped in and cranked up.

Within seconds, the SUV came out of the trees and down the road towards the last known location.

She continued to drive onward, noting the people and the group she drove past. The windows luckily was tinted, just enough for the evening time change to make it difficult to see in. She had her pistol standing by just in case someone got really curious. It was clear by the people of the village, that they didn't want these bandits here ether. She took small mental notes of the weapons they had, the number of the group. They were fairly serious about occupying where ever they are. As she passed by going up the road she knew most of what she needed to know, espcially seeing the house.

She would do this the classy way, cutting down from a distance and then lock into close quarters. The SUV continued forward past the house.

The citizens all stop as soon as they reach the house, and a loud warning shot aimed above them is enough to keep them away as she drives off.  

Eventually, she reaches a hill that's a fair distance away from the house, while also still being within eyeshot.  After setting up her equipment, she'd more than likely notice through a scope that the target that she needs to kill only checks the windows every now and then.  He seems to check the three windows within her line of sight every thirty minutes, and then he disappears for another hour or two, with one of his lackies looking out the windows on the side she's facing.

Vel watched the activity through the scope. She grinned gently from her position having a very good idea where and what each person that was hanging around was doing.

The sun finally set to rest and night began to settle in. Vel had her rifle crest against her and the ground, with the whole house in view. She started counting in her head til it was time to pull the trigger. Several lights in the house were off now, probably some sleeping while others were probably on alert for her. A few scans of the darken window was to make sure no one was playing posseum and trying to counter. Once she confirmed there were no eyes looking, she scanned down ready for the lethal part. She could see 2 of the guards playing cards at the window, their weapons visable on the table. Her crosshair spotted the weapon resting on the table and aimed just right. The counting in her head was up.

The silenced M98B fired an incendary round right through the window. The round holed into the window striking the weapon's magazine before exploding into a small burning cloud puff of incendary fire.

Various lights in the house turn on, with one of the guards pulling his fallen comrade to the doorway as another person runs in, receiving the message about the sniper. The man nods, running from cover to cover until he reaches the area around the window. He fires pistol rounds from around the window, always trying to keep himself out of harms way. As he does this, she notices another person coming out of the garage, using a female hostage as a meatshield while he tries to reach the van parked out front. As he does this, some of the other citizens fire at the house, with some the lacking firing back with pistols. It seems like, outside of the weapons she had seen, each individual had a backup pistol with a few clips, just in case.

The man opens up the trunk of a van, and Vel sees a bunch of duffel bags. The man takes one of the bags out, closing the trunk and tucking the bag behind the hostage, with the intent to try and keep you from firing at the bag, hoping that you don't intend to kill any innocents.

She didn't move as the blind firing pistol shots flew way far to her left. Her scope recorded the movement of the man and the hostage. The civilians of the village took out their rage at the front of the house which made things even more easier for her, however it made it difficult should they turn on the locals. With a quick ejection from her straight pull, she placed a FMJ round into the chamber before the next incendiary round in the magazine. Once the bolt loaded in she locked the man that was trying to use the hostage.

A moment to calculate the position he was moving, she fired another silenced shot. The round would be dangerously close to hitting the hostage, however the round would skim through the top of the target's head that was just bearly visable. If he survived, his bleeding head would be burning from the round scratching it at such a speed and once he dropped the bag and the hostage, she'd fire the next round in the chamber for the kill shot to the chest.

The man falls to the ground, dead.  In response to this, the hostage starts to make a run for it, before getting shot in the back by one of the goons firing off their pistols.  The goon glares in your direction, before hiding behind the wall.  Soon afterwards, though, she sees another hostage getting their face shoved through that window.  The window's open, so there's no harm, but they are forcing him to look at the dead hostage.  Eventually, they move the hostage away from the window, and shortly after, she sees the hostage come out of the garage, alone.  She sees what appears to be the tip of a gun from within the garage.  It seems like they learned from the death of the previous goon, and are taking further measures to make sure that they can take whatever is in those duffel bags.

Maddie smiles a little. "Alright, gives me a few ideas on how to go about this. Thanks, Onowa. Best mechanic, as always." She waves a little as she walks back to her buggie to plan her next move. "Put this one on my tab, you're getting a cut of this pay."

Onowa giggles. "If you need any help or a fast getaway, just give me a ring, you hear?" The crow tengu begins walking off, probably back to her little project from before.
