Future RP Sol Inivictus

Feb 5th, 2235, Sol Invictus/Zones

There are many open patches where the dropship though the firefight is going on a little close to comfort to the investigation zone. Upon closer inspection they can see a large number of smaller humanoids, wielding anything from old bolt-action rifles to plasma repeaters, trying to bring down a mechanical monstrosity two stories tall.

The dropship sets down nearby, though everyone was allowed to get a good look at what was going on
Glenn: (C) Sol Invictus, bring 15 inch turret online and target that monstrosity. Lets see if we can make some new friends here.

Anya: Starboard battery, bring one 15 in. gun to bear, fire upon acquiring target. And sir, next time tell me before you dive headfirst into the firefight instead of looking at the history.

Elm: Yes mam! Um....target acquired.

Anya:....I did say fire upon acquisition...

Elm: Mam! *fires*

Feb 5th, 2235, Zones

The 15in projectile smashes squarely onto the creature's upper half, visibly toppling it before a storm of dust and dirt is kicked up, obscuring any vision. The smaller gun-toting humanoids flee upon the strike, into the treeline and out of sight.

The dust cloud looks like it's going to be up for a while; nothing is moving, however.

Anya: Sir, in all hindsight, we should have realized it would have fallen and freaked these natives...

Feb 5th, 2235, Zones.

As the scan goes through, something fishy is going on. Before the dust settles, a deep roar pierces the sky, the creature storming out of the dust cloud and raising its head to the dropship. The camera picks the creature up clearly as it raises an arm, and sends its arm flying towards the dropship.

Glenn: (C) well i'll be damn, bring point defense guns online and 15 inch guns online and target this thing! Pilot, get us in the air and commence evasive maneuvers!
The dropship, whose engines never turned off yet, roars to life and the dropship quickly floats up before switching from vtol to airplane mode and picks up speed, beginning to zig-zag and fire off flares.

The rocket-arm whistles under the dropship before making a return trip back to the mechanical beast's arm. It roars again with ferocity as it slowly storms forward.

Anya: I want a nice fire display, bring25% of requested armaments to bear and fire.

The Sol Invictus blows away a few trees in the immediate vicinity as the entire area is blinded with the kicked up dust and dirt. The scans finally show no signs of life down there.

Anya: .....I would actually call that perfect....scanners, try to track down the natives just to make sure I didn't blow them away too, and be prepared for anything else. Oh, one cannon per unit this time. If they understand the idea of "making a point" they'll send either nothing or many more after us...oh yes, sir, I request that you recall yourself for the time being. We don't need you dead in a shuttle explosion.

Glenn: (C) don't worry about me, i'll be fine. I've been in much worst situations than this. Pilot, bring us down and lets looks for these natives..

The dropship circles around once before landing and blowing dust away from it, sorta clearing the area.

The scanners pick up the last of the natives fleeing into the twisting roots of the massive trees a distance away, where the sensors aren't strong enough to pierce. For the time, the area of interest is clear of all signatures.

Anya: Sir, if you're looking for natives you'll need to get back to your shuttles and *relays where the natives disappeared*

Glenn: (C) its fine, we scared them away. No sense in chasing beings who are afraid. They might just attack us. everyone, scatter and investigate the old earth vehicles. Lets see if we can figure out how they got here

Heydon climbs out of the dropship, looking around. "Yes, sir."

A distance away, the dust is blown away from the freakish creature-mech. Though dead, it's noted that none of the projectiles that hit the armor plates had actually pierced through.

Jane gets out of the ship and looks at the creature. "Shit, the guns didn't even pierce that thing. What kind of armor is that??"
Jack gets out. "Its dead, we don't have to worry about that. We have orders, let's go investigate those vehicles."

Feb 5th, 2235

Most of the metal of the vehicles are faded, with bits of moss on them. Several tanks and trucks are crippled, their guns facing outwards while the singular 8,8cm flak gun stands in the epicenter of the makeshift fortress, pointed in a 60 degree angle upwards.

Most of the vehicles were either burnt, corroded, or torn through by brute force and massive claws, easily the width of a full grown man. As they wander, Jack spots something; a tombstone in a gateway into a covered grove.

Jack walks over to the tombstone and the grove.

Jane examines the vehicles and the makeshift fortress. "What the hell did all this? And what caused these guys to set up a barricade like that? Its kinda freaky, really."

As he peers into the entryway, there's a sliver of light, but it's all that Jack needs to witness the hundreds of graves, stacked in neat rows and columns, filling just about all of the grove; there must be around one thousand graves in total here.

Glenn walks over to where jack is and pauses, staring in at all the graves
Glenn:..-takes off his helmet and puts it to the side-..No one should have to go out like this

Heydon walks into the center, examining the 8,8cm gun. "This thing looks like it was well used."

From the ship, the scanners pick up several low flyers. First one, then ten, then a hundred, all flying towards the makeshift vehicle fortress.
