Alright so...

The Quarian Flotilla has dropped out of all communication, with the Council and Alliance alike. Further investigations reveal that they are not answering any hails over any channels.

A reconnaissance frigate was sent by the Alliance but has not returned. The Council is currently tasking a Recon-In-Force crewed by Alliance and Council races alike. The hero (you I guess) has been tasked as a Staff/1st Lieutenant(it said staff lieutenant is higher but i think thats like ship only, never goes dirtside) on the cruiser SSV Atlantis, a newly commissioned Alliance cruiser that completed production 6 months prior to the heroic actions of Commander Shepard. (assuming he/she lived and blew up the station)

So it begins.









[A human stands in front of the SSV Atlantis's crew, assembled for briefing in the comms room]

???: Our mission today, is to scout the Quarian Migrant fleet. It suddenly lost communication recently and is not answering anything. A recon frigate has been sent and has not returned.

Human Crewman: Any more information, sir?

???: We have reason to believe that this mission is not a safe one. Our enemy is not a known one, and we have little information. Our purpose is to gather this information. Be ready for anything.

??(Helmsman): Coordinates sir?

???: Uploading now.

[Asgard MASS RELAY FTL DRIVE FLYING zaaaaap BOOSHK!]

??: Alright we're where the Migrant Fleet should be...


(I might need a bit more information alpha. Is crew of Atlantis multi raced? Is this an Alliance or Council action, or both?)

(Somewhat multi raced but mostly human with a little turian and asari, also its a joint thing)

Radar Operator : Incoming ships.

??? : Numbers?

Radar Operator : Looks to be 5... no wait 6.

??? : And...?

Radar Operator : 4 Frigates, a Cruiser, and a...a...

??? : Well?

Radar Operator : I have no idea.

??? : Bah, you're useless. Let me see.

??? : ...

RO : ...See?

??? : My apologies. Open a line to them. *motions to comms officer*

Communications Officer : *opens a channel to the SSV Atlantis*

??? : This is Rika'Torris vas Neema, identify yourselves.

Rika'Torris vas Neema : *shifts slightly* Is something wrong with our comms?

Communications Officer Norya'Qimwah : They are not responding.

Rika : ...Prepare to engage.

Weapons Officer Tuf'Nag : Aye aye.

Rika : You have five standard minutes to respond. If you do not, you will be considered hostile and destroyed. *signals Norya*

Norya : *snaps off comms*

Rika : Tuf, show them that we mean business. Lob a disruptor torpedo at them. Make sure it does not hit them though. We don't want to start things that could have been avoided.

Tuf : Firing one disruptor torpedo, aye aye.

Rika : Is that all you say?

Tuf : What?

Rika : Aye aye, is that all you say?

Tuf : Aye.

Rika : *sigh*

*the torpedo flies past the reconnaissance in force, although skimming quite close to the SSV D-Day, a frigate with a jumpy captain*

(D-Day Captain) James Deveraux: WHAT THE HELL?! ATTA----

(Atlantis Captain) Daniel Moors: HOLD FIRE DAMN IT. Just a warning shot. Hail them on comms.

(Ship AI)Vox: Yes sir.

Cpt. Moors: Lieutenant, you speak with them, you were always good with aliens.

???: Aye.

*Comms open up with quarian ship*

???: This is 1st Lt. Andrew Felix of the SSV Atlantis.

Lt. Felix: Who are you? What has happened to the flotilla?

Rika : My name is Rika'Torris vas Neema, and I was about to ask you the same thing. We came out of the Mass Relay two hours before you and went FTL to reach this position to meet our rendezvous with the Flotilla. We haven't been able to reach them on any frequencies, common, emergency, or even frequencies only known to us.

Norya : But that's classified!

Rika : And? They came here looking for answers too, it doesn't hurt to tell them.

Norya : *sigh*

Rika : *motions to Tuf* Stand down.

Tuf : Aye aye.

Rika : *facepalm* Alright, so--- *a geth heretic squadron appears out of FTL, firing on the Quarian frigate*

*the ships kinetic barriers shudder but hold*

Rika : Keelah! Tuf, return fire!

Tuf : Aye aye!

Rika : Norya... *the blast has thrown Norya out of her seat*...we need a medical team over here!

Tuf : GARDIAN's are useless Rika!

Rika : I know! Shunt the power from them into our barriers and our cannon!

*another blast rocks the ship, the explosion blasts Tuf out of his seat*

Rika : Tuf!

Cpt. Moors: NOW OPEN FIRE, DAMN IT! FIRE ON THE GETH!

*The ships in the recon group unleash a flurry of fire on the geth heretic ships*

(Weapons officer of Atlantis) Staff Lieutenant Alfred Granger: Firing Javelins.

*SSV Atlantis fires several Javelin torpedoes on the geth*

(Radar Officer) Lt. William Octavius: Incoming projectiles.

Cpt. Moors: Divert energy to shields.

Vox: Signal with quarian ship lost. Re-establishing...

(Helmsman) Samuel "Sage" Walker: The quarians just got hit!

Vox: Connection re-established.

Lt. Felix: Rika'Torris? Are you are your crew okay?


(Vox means "Voice")
(Felix's position is the first officer of the ship, like Ronald Taylor on the Hugo Gernsbach.)

Rika : *cough cough* I'm here. We've lost propulsion, barriers, weapons...and our mass effect core is down. I don't think we can survive another hit.

Rika : Is that a heavy cruiser by the way? *at the 6th unknown ship* [you decide what it is, giving you room to make stuff up ]

Norya : Um...

Rika : What is it Nor...ya...Oh keelah.

Norya : Yeah.

Rika : Get to the escape pods! *hits an evacuation alarm*

Norya : ABANDON SHIP!

INCOMING GETH DESTROYER!

*it plows through an alliance frigate, ripping apart the kinetic barriers with its first salvo, the second bisecting the ship cleanly*

Rika : Tuf arm the....

Norya : Tuf's-

Rika : I know.

Rika : *taps a few commands into the weapon's console, then grabs Norya and sprints to the bridge escape pod*

*the GARDIAN system fires, carving a path of destruction into the Geth destroyer, where the bridge normally would be*

Norya : *stops at the window* Nice shot.

Rika : *calls at her* C'mon!

*the Geth destroyer fires a devastating mass accelerator shot, tearing through the bridge and Norya with it*

(inside the escape pod)

Rika : Norya no!

(I must ask, which quarians are male and female?)

Cpt. Moors: DAMN IT! We lost the D-Day.

Sage: Captain, the quarians got hit again! There's some escape pods that ejected. We should pick them up.

*Atlantis narrowly dodges a mass accelerator shot*

Cpt. Moors: Alright... pick the pods up in the cargo bay and get the hell to the mass relay.

Vox: Attempting to establish contact with the pod's comms.

*Connection established*

Lt. Felix: Quarians. Re-direct your pods to our ship so we can get outta here.

Sage: The geth destroyer is preparing to launch another salvo...

(Will tell ship type later. Unknown is Atlantis right?)

(F : Rika, Norya; M : Tuf)

Rika : ...Right. *signals the other pods* Regroup on the unknown class ship.

Fand'Quan(M) : Roger that.

Vren'Tah(F) : Plotting course.

Dendra'Jan(M) : Geth fighters on intercept course, we're not going to make it! *explosion of static shatters connection*

Rika : Go evasive!

*the four remaining pods scatter in a nova-like pattern then regroup at the docking bay*

Rika : Keep the GARDIAN systems focused! *to Atlantis*

(vox is a what by the way, like race or ai or whatever?)

Vren'Tah : We've been hit! Losing atmospheric pressure! Not good! Oh keel--- *the pod shudders then rams the pod next to it, causing both to spiral out of control and detonate against Geth fighters*

Rika : Open the bay doors!

(Vox originally was just a crewman but I decided on an AI. Reason is as follows.)
[After the tremendous success of Commander Shepard's attack on the Collectors, with the use of the Normandy SR2's onboard AI, EDI, mainly the Alliance, and some others like the turian hierarchy and the Council, are installing "shackled" AIs aboard their most advanced ships]

Vox: Opening cargo bay doors.

Granger: Focusing GARDIAN systems on the geth.

*Destroyer fires another salvo*

Lt. Octavius: INCOMING!

*Ship is shaken with a huge blow, kinetic barriers are down, but armor held fairly well.*

Felix: The doors are open! Go, go, go!

Rika : You heard him, start docking immediately!

Fand : Right away!

*the two escape pods dock without difficulty*

*the ship rocks with another hit but the armor continues to hold*

Rika : *stumbles then grabs a wall handhold* I'm guessing you armored the ship with Silaris armor, otherwise we would've been blasted apart already.

*Fand runs up*

Fand : Rika, *pant pant*, you've got to come quickly!

Rika : What what is it?

Fand : It's Tuf!

Rika : Oh keelah. *moans, then sprints after Fand*

Rika : Tuf are you alright?

Tuf : *cough cough* For now...but you can't perform anything on me

Rika : Why not...Oh right.

Fand : The environment is not clean. We cannot risk healing him without him getting infected.

Rika : I know I know!

Fand : Alright I was just reminding you!

Rika : Oh Fand, I know you meant nothing. I'm sorry.

Fand : Yeah well...sorry isn't going to help Tuf.

Tuf : *has been coughing all the while, starts to wheeze* I do not think I will make it...

Rika : Why not?

Tuf : I do not know...I do not feel right. *passes out*

Rika : What's wrong?!

Fand : Rika, there is a tear in his suit!

Rika :

(Vox's voice by the way is female, sort of a cross between EDI and a more intelligent sounding Avina.)


Vox: Quarians are onboard. Cargo bay doors are closed. Silaris armor is holding for now.

Cpt. Moors: Prepare to go FTL to the mass relay.

Vox: Sir, it appears one of the quarians is injured and has a suit rupture.

Cpt. Moors: Send a medical technician and bring him back to the med bay. Get that suit rupture fixed if you can.

*Ship rocks with another salvo*

Vox: Mass effect core has been damaged slightly. It will take longer to go FTL. ETA 1 minute.

*Medics arrive in cargo bay*

Rika : *Stands up and lets the medics through* Take care of him, you hear? If you let him die...

Rika : *briskly walks to the Eezo core* How on earth can these people afford Silaris armor...unless...this isn't a Normandy-class is it?!

Rika : Whatever! *manipulates the control panel, routing a few lines through auxiliaries, sealing breached primaries*

Rika : Try going to FTL now Vox! (btw FTL ISN'T Mass relay travel, its merely faster than light travel, mass relay is frigging just under faster than time )

Fand : *sets a hand on her shoulder* Calm down.

Rika : *paces* I can't, I have to do something to help, I have t--

Fand : *grabs both of her shoulders, turns her to face him then shakes her gently* Get a hold of yourself Rika.

Rika : Ri..right. *takes a deep breath*

Fand : There see? *checks her suit* Ah. Explains the paranoia. *quickly seals a minuscule hole in her suit, then hands her a needle of antibiotics*

Rika : *jabs it into her medi-gel supply, which was already activated and had begun working on her many cuts and bruises*

Fand : You rest here okay? *leans her against a wall*

Rika : *slumps down, the sedative in the stronger dosing of antibiotics taking effect*

Fand : *stands up and reflexively wipes his "forehead" even though he can not touch it*

Fand : *turns around and runs into Felix* Watch where you're goin--! Oh. Sorry.

(I know the difference between FTL, normal, and mass relay travel. Mass relay is instant, while you can travel through a solar system in a few hours or minutes with FTL, and normal is well... normal.)

*Medics greet the quarians and at the same time put Tuf on a gerney and wheel him away*

Felix: Welcome to the SSV Atlantis. We are about to go FTL to the mass relay so I suggest you hold onto something.

Vox: 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

WHOOSH

*Just assume they do hold on, maybe with a jolt*

Felix: This is a ship similar to the famous SSV Normandy.

Felix: It is more heavily built for combat.

Fand : So it's a Normandy-class frigate but is modified into a cruiser with heavy armaments...Hm...

Fand : Who funded it?

Felix: Well.... no one really knows. Rumor has it the Alliance made some sort of pact with Cerberus.

Felix: I doubt the Alliance could afford something like this. It is less agile than the Normandy, but has more armor and weapons. It is also larger.

Vox: Mass relay is in visual.

Sage: Taking us through....

Rika : Nnnngh...

Fand : Finally awake sleepy head?

Rika : You didn't tell me you gave me a higher dose >:O

Fand : My apologies

Rika : Is Tuf okay?

Fand : I don't know...

Rika : Oh Fand...

Fand : It's ok....*comforting hug* (Nothing else o.o)

Meanwhile, in the med-bay...

Medic: Damn, that's a bad infection!

???(Head Doctor): More antibiotics and immuno-boosters!

Medic: Area is sterilized.

???: Keep him alive. See if the other quarians can help....

Medic: Right. *Goes to see them and askes them about quarian suits and health and help with Tuf.*

Fand: Tuf is alright? Well let me see if I can manipulate his medi-gel to inject this experimental anti biotic I've been working on--

Rika : It won't work.

Fand: What? Why not?

Rika : He was exposed too long.

Fand : ...You're right.

(You can step in anytime )

Rika : Just...just let him go so he won't hurt anymore.

Fand: ...(waiting for a response)

Medic: Well... we could put him in cryo stasis until we find a better anti biotic.....

Medic: We might be able to save him as is, but I would hate to let him die.

Medic: Your choice...

(not the hero i can't decide )

Rika : I don't know.

Fand : Neither do I...
(OMG INTERRUPT TIME!)

Felix: (Interrupts suddenly) I won't give up on him. Put him in cryo for now. Fand, can you finish that antibiotic of yours? We can get all the supplies and help you need.

Meanwhile...

Vox: We are through the relay. Head to the Citadel, Mr. Walker

Sage: Right... *Turns the ship to the Citadel*

Sage: Council isn't gonna like that we didn't see anything... we do have the quarians though.

Cpt. Moors: We'll see when we talk to them. Counselor (is spelled this way, alpha) Anderson will hopefully understand...

(Assume Shepard is my uber paragon and saved the council in the Battle of the Citadel and chose Anderson)

Rika : Thanks...didn't know the Alliance had cryo-tubes as the standard on their ships.

Fand: I should be able to whip something up with the right materials...
*hands him a list including : bacitracin, chloramphenicol, gentamicin sulfate, neomycin sulfate, polymyxin B, oxytetracycline, and atropine*

(most will require an significant amount of credits and are now rare due to its restriction/only able to be formed on Earth)

Atropine can be found on : Omega Station
Bacitracin, Chloramphenicol, Gentamicin Sulfate can be found on : Illium
Neomycin Sulfate, Polymyxin B can be found on : Earth
And finally, Oxytetracycline on either : Feros or the Citadel on the Level 28 Zakera Ward

Fand : I will need at least five of these for the antibiotics.

(Note : All 8, while costly and difficult to obtain, will increase the chance of its effectiveness)

Rika : Permission to accompany you to the Citadel?

Felix: This is not a 'standard' Alliance ship.

Felix: Right, please accompany us, all of you.

Sage: Bringing us up to the Citadel....

Vox*To C-Sec*: This is SSV Atlantis.

C-Sec Radio Officer: Go ahead and dock , you have clearance.

*Landing and locking noises*

Sage: Alright we are here.

Felix: Norya, you can get some of those ingredients you need here.

Felix: I can't leave you alone for security reasons, and because the geth could potentially be hunting you, so the ground ops expert will escort you. *Gestures behind him*

*A turian walks up*

???: Let's get moving.

Rika : Riiiiiight. And we're supposed to trust him?

Fand : *looks sheepishly at Felix* Sorry, she doesn't trust turians after what happened...

Rika : *glares balefully at the turian*

Fand : C'mon Rika, let's just get this over with.

Rika : *lifts her chin in the air and follows Norya*

Fand : *sigh* It's going to be a long day...

*the trio troop into the Sirta Foundation shop*

Rika : I can't believe those humans have the gall to accuse us of being--

Fand : I know, but calm down--Oh, hello.

Fand : Er...how come I don't buy it from you?

Rika : *taps his shoulder* Because technology is evolving dummy.

Fand : Haha sorry.

Kian : No problem.

Rebekka : See Michael? My son is a perfectly normal toddler now. I'm glad you listened to Commander Shepard. Boy, was he charming.

Michael : I don't know. Maybe we should ask random people walking by.

Fand : *browses the directory*

Rika : Uh...what seems to be the problem?

Rebekka : Oh, my brother Michael thinks that there must still be something wrong with my son, even though the non gene therapy treatment worked, and he's a perfectly normal little toddler now, see? *shows her a holo*

Rika : How...cute. What's his name?

Rebekka : I know isn't he? Oh and --

Michael : Rebekka, she asked about his name?

Rebekka : Oh..uh sorry. His name is Jacob...after his father.

Rika : No no it's quite alright. Hm...Here try this. *hands her an odd colored omni-gel*

Rebekka : What is it?

Rika : It's something that we ruled out for treating quarians but should work for human arrhythmia. Just in case he starts to you know...

Rebekka : Why...thank you.

Fand : Damn.

Kian : What is it sir?

Fand : You don't have Oxytetracycline in stock do you.

Kian : No sorry, we just sold the last bundle, it's quite rare you see.

Fand : That's quite alright, have a nice day. C'mon Rika, let's go get something to eat, I'm starved.

Kian : See you.

Rika : Wait up!

Michael : See? What'd I tell you. Talking to random strangers always works.

*they continue to bicker as they exit the shop and walk toward the cafe*
