Argenist-Calidrian Front (Argenist Side)

As the convoy approaches, Hans turns out of the tank and sits on the top cupola. He raises his hands at the two as they pass by and speaks lowly over the radio.
"Captain, take a few of the APC's and give a wide patrol around the vilage edge. I don't want to be surprised." He flipped over to the inner tank frequency. "Take us into the vilage nice and smooth, no need to scare people."

Eulon waves back to Hans, kinda watching the APC's go around. "... odd..."
"What's odd?"
"I don't know... be ready to start the Edelweiss, Annie, and have some shield runes ready."
"What's wrong?"
"I just said I don't know. Don't move quickly, just go in and pretend to be working."
She starts going into the tank again. "But I am working."
"You know what I mean." He continues making it look like he's doing surveillance while keeping an eye on the Argenist convoy. "Something's up... but what?"

Hans activates the loudspeaker on his tank.
"Ladies and Gentlemen, I am Commander Hans Landa of the Argenist 33rd Tank Division. We are here from the front, The calidrians are only half a day behind us and we are here to collect supplies and volunteers. I regret to inform you that the Government and high command has declared this zone, this town, and all of your families expendable. Come with us to the rear, we will be the last of friendly forces you see. If anyone wishes to sign on, please come forward"

A crowd gathers almost immediately as what little there is left of the able-bodied sign up as conscripts, bringing with them their winter gear and weapons they have on hand.

Twelve men and woman in all. But something is better than nothing.

Many of the elderly or those too young to fight hastily pack up what few belongings they can as they set off in their trucks and cars behind Hans' armored column.

Eulon frowns. "Not like us to suddenly visit towns for recruiting people... and high command declaring these people expendable?" He looks out to where they came from. "... what happened on the front line?"
"Do I need to start Edelweiss, Eulley?"
Eulon doesn't answer and jumps down into the Edelweiss to turn on the comm direct link to Hans' tank. "Hey Commander! I'm Corporal Eulon Dahmer, what's going on here?? I know the government and high command are bastards but what's with this recruitment thing? We don't handle things like this. Why make that claim on command anyway?? What happened on the front lines???"

Hans switches over the new comm. "We were routed like waves against a rock alone in the ocean. Most of the division was wiped out except what you see here. Command left us to die, no reinforcements and no air support. The next 'frontline' is a prepared defensive line almost fifty miles from here. Everything between here and there was meant to hold up the enemy while troops were brought to the stations. Myself and my men are heading to each base to gather forces and march to the capital to make an example." he paused. "The frontline was swept away. almost every man and woman killed to the last. We were used to buy time and nothing more."

Eulon blinks. "That... that's impossible, that can't be true. Why would they do that?? That doesn't make any sense, Commander!"

"Because we're all expendable to them! All of us. Every last one. If they truly cared about the Calidrians wouldn't they have stationed more than a single tank division to stop their advance? Wouldn't they have made sure we were properly supplied? You should've seen or heard friendly aircraft by now. But you're not going to. They're holding all their forces back at the next line. They don't give a damn about anyone infront of it, Agenist or not."

Anton quips up briefly on Hans's radio. "Boss, I've got the codes for the bade you want to hit. Looks like they're under attack and are requesting for reinforcements they're not getting anytime soon."

Hans remains quiet for a moment before lighting another cigarette. "Alright then. Rev up the engines lads, We'll lend them our aid. Get the turrets warm and your belts loaded. Identify your targets before you open fire. Crash course those militia on mechanized warfare while we drive. Fellow Argenists need our help!!"

He quickly reloaded the .50 on the top of the tank and checked his belt feed before moving into the hatch and loading a fresh magazine into the AK-47U that was stored under his seat. "All of you be prepared to dismount and engage in close quarters."

Snapping the long rage radio on he sent a message to the nearby base. "This is Hans Landa of the 33rd Armoured, we're on route from the southwest with an armoured column to assist you. What's hitting you, over?"

The voice on the the side seems weary. "33rd, huh? The real one, right? Well, we're under attack by a column hailing as the 33rd Armored. Calidrian unit, covered up as one of our own. Your pal's transmitted the right code, guess you're the real deal."

"Well we're gonna come in and rectify that situation. Roughly 5 minutes out. What kind of artilllery did they bring to the fight?"

"Heavy mortars, self-propelled guns, and T-74Bs, it's a lot more than we can manage by ourselves. But we'll hold until you get here. Over and out."

As they draw closer, Hans uses the optics on his tank to scope for the nearest target

"Prepare to load High Explosive! Take those APC's down the left flank and dismount to outflank these Calidrian fucks!"

A shell rockets forward at the Calidrian forces, scoring a direct hit on the APC. It doesn't seem to do much as it lands on the armor, but the shell then detonates on impact to a massive burst of electricity and a thunderclap. The storm the shell caused arcs to two nearby tanks that were escorting the APC, causing all three to halt in their tracks as the lightning raced through them, toasting the crews inside. Hans gets a ping on the radio "Yo, chief, this is Eulon of the Edelweiss, hope you don't mind a little help from this reserve crew in defending that town." He turns to Annie. "Good hit, set another up, I'm thinking ice this time. Let's give this bastards a real taste of winter."
Annie loads the shell while activating the runes on it. "Alright, winter is coming." Eulon groans a little. "You know you love the reference."
"I know and I hate it!"

Hans let out a large grin. "Good to have you kid. Let's show the Calidrians who owns this land!"

James shoves the high-explosive shell into the breech. "Up!"

"Target set... firing at will." Dmitri pulls the trigger, the HEF shell piercing the flimsy armor of the lead active APC, detonating within and peeling back its armor like a tin can. James begins loading the next shell as Dmitri swings the gun to the next target.

Around them, the T-72Bs and the Challenger II barrels towards the enemy, guns firing and knocking out enemies left and right. But the enemy responds well, immediately breaking off a force of tanks from the main force to engage this new enemy. Ten T-72Bs and twelve T-90As.

"Alright boys and girls, they're onto our little flanking manouvre. Engage at will and let's rescue our brothers"

"Aye aye!" the radio rings from the other crews, as the tanks rush forward, into what feels like a cavalry charge in the days of old. Cannons rumble as shells whirl through the air, some striking their marks, others missing or simply bouncing off. With the Calidrian false flag operation it's difficult to tell who's who.

"Where did these guys come from so far back behind the front?? How'd they even get here? Any ideas?" He asked over the radio as the Calidria bounced a round off. With satisfaction he watched the enemy tank that fired erupt in an explosion.

"False flag operations, boss," Anton remarks. "These buggers took your unit name, right? While we were off the grid they probably took advantage of it."

"How the hell did they know it was us though. There would have to have been an Inside man in our lines. Fuck me." He paused. "How many left of those fuckers are left?" He clicked the radio. "How you boys on the other side holding out?"

"We've routed them. About two dozen enemy vehicles, tops, they're on the run, boss," Anton reports.

"We've got an armored division to deal with here, but it's manageable, our thank!" the outpost radio operator replies.
