Argenist-Calidrian Front (Argenist Side)

The sirens for the ammo dump begin wailing as other tank crews begun rushing to evacuate. On the radio, Hans hears cries of retreat as the Calidrians have broken through the front lines.

"Shit! Get us out of here! Move!" Hans takes a brief moment to examine the fleeing forces. He thinks quickly before calling out on the radio. "This is Sergeant Hans Landa of the 33rd Armoured Corps, I'm pulling out of here and reforming into a guerilla unit. Any friendlies interested pull to the following coordinates and stay silent. Out." He transmits the coordinates of a pond in the middle of the frozen mountains roughly 20 miles away from the front lines. He looked at his crew and uttered a muffled prayer that they escape.

Christel quickly responds by putting the tank into gear and rolling out once everyone is in, heading for the coordinates Hans gives.

"Christel it's time we go our own way"

Christel pauses for a second before saying "Sure, but sir... what about the coordinates you gave? We shouldn't just leave anyone who gathers there to die"

"We're going to bring them to our cause."

Moments after Hans sends out that call he spies a sizable number of T-72B's and APCs subtly rolling towards the locations he's sent out.

"Whatever the hell gets us away from these bloody idiot commanders," James laughs.

"Just give us the orders," Dmitri nods.

Once they arrive at the location, Hans stands up in his cupola and removes his helmet. Clearing his throat, he activated the tank's loudspeakers and began to address the crowd: "Men and Women of the Agrenist Forces, you all know me. We've served together for near 15 years as our friends and loved ones perished around us. This defeat today only goes to show the incompetence of our military leaders. Well no more. No more will we live while our comrades die. As of today, My intentions are to raise a force of the people, for the people in order to stop the oppressive, warmongering, genocidal regime of our commanders. You've all seen the bloodshed their recklessness has caused, you saw today their ill-preparedness cost the lives of hundreds if not thousands of our brothers and sisters. No more repeats of today. No more needless violence. I ask you all, you few, to stand with me against the oppressors and fight for a free Argenist state!"

He looks upon the crowd with hesitation, anger shaking his body senselessly.

Christel smiles happily and merely listens to Hans give his speech.

The silence hangs over the vehicles and men for several moments, with tension that you could cut through with a blade. Finally, a radio transmission cuts through the silence, hailing from a fellow T-72B commander.

"I'm up for this as the next man, but does this make us communists?"

There was a brief pause as Hans considered the words. "No my brother! It makes us Patriots!!"

A laugh rings out from the other side of the radio. "Strong words, rookie. This is Argenia's March, Captain Anton Zhayev, speaking; I pledge myself to your cause!"

With that, many more pledges of loyalty ring out across the radio. Once Hans totals the number of tanks, it comes down to fifteen T-72Bs, an assortment of 18 APCs, and a single Challenger II tank, the Argenia's March.

"Alright then everyone, form up into a double column and we'll advance to the nearest village" He checks his map for a moment before resuming to speak. "North by North-east roughly an hour or so away from here. There we'll get some volunteers and supplies. From there we'll head to Fort Draulev military base and attempt a peaceful takeover. Any questions?"

"Yeah, how're we going to get into Draulev base? We don't have the access codes and that place must be shut down tighter than a chastity belt," one of the APC commanders remark.

"Don't worry about that, We'll get in when we get there. Let's head out before the Calidrians get whiff of our trail." He nudges christel and points to the map "Get us to that village, time is wasting."

Chirstel says, "Yes sir, moving out." She quickly put the tank into gear and headed on the fastest route for the town which Hans wished to visit.

Hans lit a cigarette and leaned back in the cupola. "Well. It's done. We'll goto this village and tell them we're taking recruits to stop the Calidrian advance. It won't take long to get there, but we'll top off on rations and any men and women who are willing to join and assist.
What do you think guys?"

"I'd expect supplies but not many conscripts. The war's bled manpower dry, after all," James comments.

"We'd need access codes to get into that base, commander," Dmitri remarks.

My plan for getting in is simple. We drive up under the guise, which is rather truthful I might add, of forces limping back from the front in need of resupply, refuel, and a need for a radio. Sure we have short range comms, but as we get into the mountains we'll need a proper station which the base will be sure to have. Once we're in, we quietly take out their commanders and round up the garrison. This is a backwater post, we'll find some people sympathetic to our cause. "

Dmitri looks on his phone. "It's gonna become a frontline post soon, commander."

Then, outside, the sky grows brighter as the stars seem to shine with added brilliance. then, moments later, it's over as quickly as it begun.

"...What the fuck was that?" James asks.

Hans looked up to the sky and pipes up on the radio. "Uh.. anyone else see that?' He thought for a moment this was his sign from the gods to continue onward with his plan. Maybe it was their approval.

"I mean.. really. What the fuck was that"

"Yeah. I saw it too, along with most of my lads," Anton speaks over the radio. "I don't think that's natural. Maybe the gods above are watching over us, for better or for worse," he laughs.

"Yeah. Maybe. We'll know as time flows." Hans tosses his cigarette out the open viewport and sat up in his turret to feel the brisk winter air against his skin. Not far off the edges of the village could be seen flickering in the early morning. "Well. We're here."

-In the Village

Eulon raises the field binoculars to his eyes and looks through to the approaching convoy again. "Huh... how about that."
A voice chimes in from the tank he's standing on. "What's up, Eulley?"
Eulon rolls his eyes at the nickname. "Our allies from the front are approaching, Annerelthsa."
The silver haired elf girl pokes her head out from the inside of the tank. "Why do you use that, you never pronounce it correctly."
"And why do you continue to us that silly nickname you used when we were kids."
"Because your name was hard to pronounce for me." She climbs out of the tank and takes the offered field glasses. "Huh, how about that. Hope they aren't bringing the damn Caldrians with them..."
Eulon shakes his head. "No, didn't look like it."
Annie sighs. "Thank goodness. Well, should we tell someone?"
"Nah, they'll find out when the engines get close enough."
"We'll get in trouble."
"Who cares? We're already on reserve, not much worse they can do."
