Jimurshi Eastern Wastelands

X-01 waited and wait in the cave even after the noise died down. She was dead scared about the mana gunners coming down and finding her. Soon though she peeks out, no longer sensing them nearby. She quickly shifts and begins to fly as fast as she can away from here and very low, almost touching the ground. Tears fill her eyes as she cries for her saviors who died so she could live. This wasn't fair, nothing was fair! All she wanted was to be happy and have a family..
Thinking all of this and crying distracted her and she didn't see the person walking that she slams into... Screeching, she turns back into her human form and tumbles down with the unknown person.

Nidio had been walking back to her snowmobile after some winter explorations. She had been scouting out areas to set up base camps in when she was on missions so she could have a small supply line of her own. She had paused to take pictures of the bright lights in the sky, unsure of what they were. All she knew was that they looked cool and pretty. She was walking back when she felt a presence behind her. She had turned around just in time to get hit by something brighter than a star in the sky. She fell to the ground hard, face planting in the snow with a yelp. She groans and gets up, shaking the snow out of her hair and ears before turning on the assaulter in anger. "Hey! Watch where you're-" She stops short at seeing its a small child lying in the snow. "Oh gods, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to snap like that. Are you okay??"

X-01 groans, saying "sorry..my heeead hurts". Rubbing her head, she opens her eyes and stares at nidio curiously, mainly her ears.

Nidio sighs a little, relieved the kid is okay. She kinda wonders what she's staring at but doesn't think much of it. She blinks suddenly at the fact the girl isn't wearing winter clothes. "What are you wearing in this weather?! Are you crazy?!" She pulls a coat from her bag and gives it to her. "Put it on before you freeze to death!" She feels a little confused at why she wasn't in winter gear or the fact that the cold didn't seem to bother her.

X-01 blinks and looks at nidio now and says, "Freeze, like becoming snow? Don't worry about me, I don't become snow unless i have liquid nitrogen dumped on me."
She also was a bit more relaxed, with nidio having shown concern for her. She also tries to hide her pain away from Nidio, but its obvious from her stained cheeks that X-01 has been crying for a long time. Her clothes also have X-01 sowed into the shirt, almost like an identifier tag with a barcode underneath it.

Nidio looks horrified. "L-Liquid nitrogen?! Who would dump that on a child?! ... are you okay? Really, are you okay?? Where are you from? ... X-01? Is... is that your name? That's an... unusual name..."

X-01 looks down a bit sadly and says, "N..no, X-01 isn't my name..I...I don't have a real name."

Nidio sighs a little. "Okay... um... here, put this coat on. I don't know why you're out here on your own, but I'm going to take you somewhere safe, okay?" She hesitates a little, unsure of what to do, or even what to call this child. All she knew was that she needed to get this girl out of the wasteland.

"O..ok" X-01 says, taking the coat and putting it on, merely to cover her her badge. She says, "Well, um, could you take me to the Frozen Ruins..?"

Nidio blinks in surprise. "The Frozen Ruins??? Why on earth would you want to go there?"

"Some..friends told me I had to go there to be safe." She replies to Nidio

Nidio sighs, scratching her ear a little. "That's a very long drive..." She mutters under her breath. She laughs a little. "I guess that supply trail wasn't so crazy of an idea after all... Okay, little one, I'll take you to the Frozen Ruins... but it's gonna be a long journey, all the way on the other side of the continent. I hope you're ready for that kind of a trip. My name's Nidio... I'm still not sure what to call you unfortunately, but I'm sure we'll think of something. Something tells me that X-01 isn't a name you want."

She nods before pausing and asks, "What's a Continent?..or a trail?"
These news words Nidio used confused her, but it was also a nice feeling. These were things she'd never have gotten to learn about while confined to that terrible place.

Nidio blinks a little. "Um... a continent is a large land mass and a trail is a road of sorts that you make yourself rather than having someone else make it... well uh, come this way, we can continue talking as we walk. I'd rather not have my ride covered in snow by the time we reach it."

X-01 says, "alright." She follows nidio close, a bit afraid she might leave her. Soon though she says, "So, um... I've never seen someone with neat looking ears before.."

Nidio looks down at her with a blink. "I'm an ookami. We have dog like features, like these ears. We also have tails. You, uh, never said where you were from. Don't take offense at my question, but how do you not know what an ookami is? We're pretty numerous in the world."

X-01 thinks for a moment before telling her, "I..don't know where I'm from. This is my second time of ever being outside that place." She looks off at the direction of the facility when she says this, and where the stars in the sky seemingly appeared earlier.

Nidio looks in the same direction and down at X-01 with a slightly sad expression. "Well, you're out of that place now. I don't know what happened there, but its all over now..." The eventually arrive at a machine X-01 has never seen before. Its a large metal monster looking thing, with two wheels and some belts along with platforms on a strange frame. Nidio walks to it calmly and places her bag into a compartment on it.

X-01 curiously comes up to the machine and looks over it before asking, "so is this a vehicle like a helicopter??"

Nidio looks at her with a small smile. "You know what a helicopter is but not a motorcycle? Well, its modified pretty heavily. Its a snowmobile right now. So no, this is definitely not like a helicopter. Helicopters can fly, this cannot."

She nods and says "motorcycle..huh, and it doesn't fly like a helicopter or like me..?"

Nidio frowns in confusion. "What do you mean like you?"

X-01's form quickly shifts, her clothes and winter jacket seemingly melting away as strange fiery yellow feathers replace them. Soon she is a Phoenix , perched on the seat of the snowmobile. Not only this, she is a natural mage light in the night. "I can grow wings like this and fly!" She says.

Nidio stares in undisguised shock and surprise. "What... you're... oh my gods... you're a phoenix?? But... I thought they were all..." She rubs her eyes and looks back at her to make sure shes not seeing things. "Okay, okay, uh... you should definitely never go around like this... its dangerous, like really dangerous. Please just stay as a human whenever we're in a town or around other people. You must never let anyone see you like this."

X-01 blinks and tilts her head sideways for a second before quickly turning back. "Alright, but what exactly is a Phoenix..? The others would call me birdie or a Phoenix sometimes, but never really explained to me what they were besides the fact they can fly," she asks curiously.
