Jimurishi Wasteland, Unknown Base

All was operating normal at this research facility in the arctic wasteland of Jimurishi. The base itself was situated ontop of a tall mountain, making it hard to get to. Here secret projects were being undertaken with the public none the wiser..

A scientist passes by a vat, its internal light glowing ominously like a sci-fi movie. But perhaps what they were doing would be considered sci-fi by many on the planet today...

Regardless, it is such a disappointment that there were so many failures. But there is always a cost to progress, it seems.

X-01 was within the cell, huddled up on her bed and silently crying to herself. Why were they so cruel, is it so wrong that she just wanted to see the outside?

A few moments later, a scientist steps up to X-01's cell, the typical blank gas mask masking the man within. Three armed soldiers watch over him. "It's time for your testing," the scientist states monotonously, slightly muffled by the mask.

"NO, I DON'T WANA!" She yells, running into the corner and beginning to cry loudly

The scientist sighs lightly. "Please don't make this any harder than it has to," he speaks as he gestures, a guard moves forward with an electrical stun baton. "I don't take any joy from doing this either."

X-01 looks up, sniffling and whining a bit as she obediently, but hesitantly, goes over to the scientist.

The scientist watches for a moment before turning, the signal for X-01 to follow. The guards flank behind her, preventing any escape.

It's the same room she's come to expect and dread. An operating table, sterile, white and smooth, sitting ominously in the center of a well-lit room. More men and women hiding behind masks flank the room... what might the experiment be this time?

She stares at it silently and in fear. Soon though she stammers out, "w..wha..what i.is.. g..oi..going to happen t.th..this time?"

The scientist looks over to one of the other white-clad men. "Another cocktail of chemicals? The sirs do know that they can't get results off a corpse, right?"

The other man shrugs. "Apparently they know what they're doing, or something like that."

X-01 seemingly faints at hearing this

She wakes up hours later, back in her cell, every inch of X-01's body screaming in pain as she comes to. But despite her pain, she can hear her guards outside the door talking amongst themselves in hushed whispers. There's always four guards, but with her pain it's hard to tell who's the one speaking.

"...can't keep on doing this, how long are they going to keep on doing these pointless tests? It's been months and there hasn't been any results."

"I don't like it any more than you, mate, but I've got a family to feed. Guarding some backwater research facility is perhaps the easiest task there can be, with all that fighting on the front and all."

"Come on, admit it, we were dead men when we all signed up on this fucking boat. If we stick with 'em, we're just cannon fodder. If we betray 'em, kiss everything you know and love good-bye."

The guards sit in silence at that remark for a few moments.

"...This is all fucked up. We're keeping that damn thing in a cage so we can do what, breed her? Clone more of her? For what, some rich fat asshole's pet? ...Damn it, this is FUBAR."

"You're feeling sympathetic for the subject?"

"You're saying you don't? That bird has only felt pain and fear since the day she was born. And what next? More fear? More pain? You already know as well as I do most of the world turns a blind eye to criminal activity in this time and age."

"There's always slavery. Don't forget that."

"Like hell that's gonna change anytime soon, mate. The rich stays filthy rich, the poor stays dirt poor... the powerful still doesn't give a bloody damn."

"...What a world we live in," one of the guards sign.

She looks up weakly from the bed, listening in on their conversation. She still doesn't understand some of the words they say, more of never being out of the facility or taught their meanings. But she did have a grasp at what a family was, and it was something she yearned for deeply. She sadly and painfully speaks up, only saying "I..forgive you..". With that said she rests her head against the bed, the pain evident on her face and how she curls up slightly.

The four men look to her, then to one another.

"What a world we live in," one of the men sighs.

X-01 laid there for what seems like forever and slowly her body stopped hurting as much. The day slowly turned to night as she rested there, almost praying her slumber could go on forever and uninterrupted. Her dreams were always nicer and painless. Yet the sounds outside her cell stirred her back to the world of the living slowly and she opened her eyes.

Keys rattling at the cell door snapped her awake once more. It's that time again.

The scientist with the gas mask is back.

Her eyes go wide as she quickly wakes up, but groggily gets up against the side wall on the bed and tries hiding against the wall. She says as she quivers slightly in fear, "I don't feel good still from the last thing you did to me!".

"We're on a schedule. Come on, get going, or do I have to-"

The scientist is interrupted by a swift bash to the head by one of the guards, who silently gestures for her to follow them as one of them opens the gates.

What's going on? is all X-01 though as she got up and nodded in shock, following the guard in confusion. She watches them, trying to figure out if this is some sort of trick as she follows them

"Keep your head down and pretend you're going to the test, kid." The guards move, pretending to escort her down the hall towards the testing chamber, but takes a few deviations when there's no person of camera looking. A blast of cold air from in front of them tells their destination.

"We're going to have to go loud in the hanger. The pilot's with us, right?"

"We can only trust he's done his part," one of the others say.

X-01 looks at them with surprise and asks, "A..are you taking me outside??"

One of the guards nods and puts up a finger to his mouth. "Shhh... quiet."

The five of them move towards an opened doorway, the doorway guarded by two other gas-masked men. "Hey, what the hell are you doing here?! I don't know where the test subject should be but it ain't here!"

"No, we're going the right way." Two of X-01's guards pull out their knives in a flash, sinking the steel deep into the necks of the door guards while pushing their gas makss out of the way to silence any sound. Moments later, the two sink to the ground, dead, as the five move out onto the helipad. The pilots of the Mi-24, sitting at their seats, gesture for them to quickly get in their craft.

The sunset is glaring but beautiful to the young phoenix.

X-01 goes wide eyed at seeing the other guards being killed but silently follows. She freezes though and asks "what about the others like me..?"

"There's nothing we can do for them," one of the guards say as they help X-01 onto the helicopter. Behind them, from within the base, there's sounds of yelling and rapidly approaching footsteps.

"They're onto us!" one of the guards yell as he and his fellows pull out pistols, hurriedly making their way onto the helicopter.

X-01 says, "i'll be with on in a moment! I'm going to use the spell i discovered last time i was outside and saw the stars. I should be able to use it to get the others!"

Closing her eyes, she begins to seemingly pray, though a magic circle forms around he rand expands, becoming bigger and bigger before encompassing the entire base. As it does, X-01 says, "Stars of the dark ocean, hear thy prayer. Come down to earth and grant an everlasting wish to the worthy." After she says this, dust like sparkle particles begin to form from the ground and float upwards into the sky, shining dimly like stars. Its quite also clustered with various sizes coming up, though it looks beautiful and awe inspiring. Its easy to become transfixed by these light, which seem to echo out a feeling of hope to those who see it.

After a few seconds, She gasps and tears come out of her eyes, "No..We can all go away from here together! Just wish for it, don't wish for death!"

Fire like feathers that burn a bright yellow begin to form all around X-01 as well as her form seems to glow yellow, outlining her as mana sensors begin to max out and blow out around the base.
