Race Sheet
The Drochians
Home planet: Drochnius
Preferred climate: dry, hot, desert.
Closest matched species: human
Organization: tribal
Class: Scavenger (technology)
Qualities: slightly pointed canine teeth, used to pierce the tougher-skinned creatures of their world. Slightly elongated ears, usually pointed, used to sense and hear things sooner than normal. Less-sensitive nerves including taste buds, allowing them to live easier on their harsh home world.
Notes: they tend to not like being exposed to the hot suns of their planet, and wear protective suits or clothes. Only children are seen often without protection.
They also tend to have more female children than male at a 3/1 ratio.
Religion or Deity: none, pretty much all of the tribes don’t have a deity to worship, they got to where they are by hard work. They do have morals though, learned from millennia’s of existence.
Rules: there are a few rules every adult Drochian must follow: their suits must be worn at nearly all times and the monotone voice boxes must be on whenever in the presence of anything but Drochians. They are to marry within their own tribe, and not associate with others more than necessary.
Technology: the Drochians utilize many heavy machines, from the C.O.R. battle suit to the humble “collector” X-38. Their normal, every-day suits are wonders of engineering themselves. Inside each is every basic tool you could ever need, from headphones to an air scrubber. Their tech tends to be dependable but macabre however, pieced together from the scrap of wrecked spacecraft that crash on their planet often.
Weapons of Choice:
Mauler Pistol: dependable, useful and a multitasker, the mauler combines a shotgun and burst fire rifle into one small package able to be wielded in one hand when a suited warrior holds it. Most prefer to dual wield them. Ammo capacity: 50 rounds in a clip~6 shells. Range: short to medium,
Obliterator rifle: used by the heavy C.O.R. mechanized battle suits, the rifle is the ultimate anti-infantry gun the Drochians possess. Its fire rate of 500 RPM (rounds per minute) can lay waste to a battalion of lightly armored infantry in moments. Combine that with its 1,000 round clip and you have the best of the best. Range: short to long range
Drochian knife: again a dependable, though outdated weapon over looked by many other races, each Drochian is trained to use this weapon. They can come in all kinds of shapes and sizes, from the dagger-sized ones to the massive bastard-sword sized one used in the C.O.R. Each knife is detailed with glyphs carved by the owner. They can represent their goal, their tribe’s symbol, anything. It is somewhat a right of passage to receive and carve a knife.
Tech/vehicles of choice:
C.O.R. battle suit: this suit was designed and built early on in the Drochians rise from warring tribes to feared scavengers. Standing at 9 feet tall, the suit is a impressive marvel of rusted metal and heavy armor. Combined with the obliterator rifle, the suit is neigh unstoppable. The armor has a single weakness: it gets sluggish as its reserve power is taken up by other actions, such as running jumping and close combat. Otherwise a C.O.R. can last a year of continuous operation without charging. The battle suit over time has become each tribe, each with variations and weapons. No two C.O.R.’s are the same. Weapons: Drochian blade, Obliterator rifle.
X-38 miner rig: the X-38 is used in excavation of caves and tunnels under Drochnius’s surface, for sources of water and minerals. Along with those duties they are largely in charge of keeping the slow-moving scrap frigates the Drochians use in space flight. Most X-38 pilots call their humble tracked machines “collectors” and are extremely proud of them. Some even name their vehicles. Most are customized, even having weapons and tools that help with their task. In a pinch, an X-38 can also be a formidable attack vehicle. Weapons/tools: claw, drill, robotic hand, sometimes they have missile pods for blasting away rock and rubble.
Scrap Frigate: these rusting remains of crashed ships with new life breathed into them are the main part of the small Drochian fleet. They scour the galaxy searching out technology and resources. Their crews are usually the best of the best. Only one tribe owns and operates more than 2 scrap frigates. The ships vary in size and weaponry, partly because they are just reanimated crashed ships. The Scrap Frigate is a fearsome opponent; the captains of the hulks tend to outfit them with more guns than they’ll ever need, as well as improved armor. As a rule, the Drochians never engage these vehicles in combat over tribal disputes, as they are extremely rare and neither tribe participating wants to lose theirs.
