The Hellion

The Hellion are a near hive mind race who were found dormant on a planet during the first infinite war. They retaliated, but were crushed by UEF forces. They returned in the Second Infinite War, only to be crushed again by the combined forces of the Helix Alliance and the UEF. They return still, but only with 3 hive minds, whereas at their peak in the second Infinite War, they had about 850 hive minds throughout the galaxy. The hive minds communicate and form something of a mental council. Some hellion are independant, but loyal soldiers, such as commandos. Hellion are not feral, but actually quite smart. The hive minds coordinate research and salvage operations, and have spies and many other things. Independent hellion are given names, but those names are numbers. Hive mind count today is about 3 or 4.

Ravener-Gamma "Impaler" - Grunts, come in swarms usually


Tyrant-Beta "Spiker" - Shooter, shoots spikes at ground targets and spores at air targets.

Hive Mind - Hive minds control the lesser Hellion and are usually underground and heavily defended.

Hive Mind Destroyer Form - Hive minds sacrifice control of faraway minions and transform into this.



SUPERWEAPON
Omega-Zeta "Leviathan" - Enormous monster usually deployed to decimate parts of planets. Can burrow, and swim underwater. Can survive in the void of space for a long time.


Mauler-Beta "Behemoth" - The tank of the hellion, and are often used as guards, esp. for hive minds. Equivalent to human tanks.


Delta-Beta "Gargoyle" - Flyers capable of deep space flight and can be mutated to have different armament such as spores or claws.

Alpha-Beta "Commando" - Hellion usually previously human. Infected by the parasite, they are now unrecognizable. Some can change shape to look like humans, and some are skilled spies, passing through a miles of human cities without anyone seeing them for a second. Bases are usually separated from hive mind bases or major hellion bases, and disguised or hidden in some way. In squadrons of 4-10, unless sent to spy alone.
