Well, atomic made a rant, and i have something on my mind, so im going to rant.



Why does noone ever research something before saying it? I am so tired of all the instances here of people creating a post with some faulty information in it, because quite frankly it makes you guys look like idiots when you do it. Is it realy that hard to just do a quick wikipedia search before you say something?

Ninja...do you realize lasers are already in society?
Laser printers, laser cutters, laser pointers, ect.

Also, like I said, I do not know anything about modern Russia. Forgive me for being so naive.

And also, lasers already have been developed. They are hot enough to burn through metal, and are currently being used as a surface-to-air anti-missile system, or being mounted on ships, using against other ships or as an anti-air weapon.

funny how you posted that comment that said lasers dont exist yet, but are so quick to attack me when i criticize you for it.

Todays review is on: Rome Total Realism




Rome total realism is a mod for Rome Total War. if you don't know what i THINK of rome total realism, read the top line again.


The idea of making a realistic rome total war intrigued me. i thought it would be cool. instead, its shit. but lets start with the good things, because i feel optimistic today.


The first good thing is the expanded factions list. love it.
they also expanded the map to include asia minor and more of scandinavia.

now its time for the BAD...


1. if you want to actually build the troops you chose the faction for in a city you conquered, too bad. you have to build these things called auxilaries first. you need to make 3, all in all 12 turns.

12 FUCKING TURNS. FOR ONE SETTLEMENT TO BUILD YOUR UNITS? THATS ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS.

you also have to make your faction's barracks. that adds another 4 turns. so all in all, 16 turns to actually use the damn city.
i wouldn't be objecting to one auxilary but 3 is just too much. you cant even make units with the first one so its pretty much useless.


second, the expanded map. i said i liked it, and i do. but the only reason they expanded it was to TOTALLY RIG A FACTION CALLED THE SELEUCID EMPIRE. it gets 30 settlements to start with. 30 DAMN SETTLEMENTS. that is WAY TOO MUCH. about..say.. around 20-25 more settlements than everyt other faction starts with.

third, cavalry. they basically ruined cavalry. they made the charge attack high but normal attack low and raised the upkeep ridiculously high. so basically, you can only use them once before having to pull them back or risk them all dieing.

fourth, the battles. if you havent played the total war series, you can fight a battle on the battle map or just automatically do it. the ridiculous amounts of units i have to make to even be able to stand a chance makes my laptop lag, so i try to auto do it.

boy, is that ever bullshit.

ive lost EVERY SINGLE AUTO BATTLE. EVER. even ones when i outnumber the enemy 4 to 1 with really good quality units i still lose EVERYTHING. its total B-U-L-L.
